
Sourdough Bread for Beginners In-Person Class
This hands-on, in person sourdough workshop is being held at North Roxboro Baptist Church from 10am-noon. You choose Saturday, April 5th or May 3rd
Join us as we go through the steps of feeding your starter, making your dough, and several sets of "stretch and fold". By the end of this class, you'll have organic, minimal ingredient sourdough bread dough ready to rise with a suggested bake time for the following day. You'll also develop the skills to shape your dough, fold in inclusions, how to bake, and more.
The class fee includes:
-a healthy starter
- ingredients for you to feed that starter and to make your first loaf of bread
-basic tools and a recipe booklet.
Participants are asked to bring a quart sized glass jar to take home their starter.
Scales will be provided for use during the class, but it is highly recommended that you have one at home. It is also recommended that you have a dutch oven at home to use when baking your bread.
